Resources – NetWork Kansas works with communities through its Entrepreneurship (E-) Community Partnership to create local, sustainable funding programs as well as creating a virtual network of expertise and educational resources for entrepreneurs at the local level. – Kansas Secretary of State’s Office performs numerous statutory duties related to the administration of statewide elections, business entities and the uniform commercial code. – The Internal Revenue Service is the nation’s tax collection agency and administers the Internal Revenue Code enacted by Congress. – The Kansas Insurance Department was established by the Kansas Legislature in 1871. The major functions of the Department are to regulate and review companies for financial solvency and regulatory compliance, educate consumers, assist consumers, and license agents selling insurance products in the state. – As the state’s lead economic development agency, the Kansas Department of Commerce strives to empower individuals, businesses and communities to achieve prosperity in Kansas.  – Agency developed to protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans. Administers many health regulations for businesses.  – Agency that administers food safety, consumer protection, natural resource protection and water resource management for the benefit of all Kansans.– Revenue control agency that also houses the Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control, Motor Vehicle Registration, Property Valuation, and Taxation.  – The agency administers the Unemployment Insurance Program and processes claims for unemployment benefits. KDOL operates the state’s Workers Compensation system and enforces Kansas employment standards including wage and hour laws and child labor laws. –  United States Department of Agriculture – SBA offers a variety of programs and support services to help you navigate the issues you face with your initial applications, and resources to help after you open for business. – Each Regional SBDC is staffed by professionals with the knowledge and business experience to provide expert counseling and training. Our staff has a wide variety of business experience in many different functional areas and industries. Centers may also utilize faculty, graduate students, volunteers and representatives from business and industry.
